For me, this is an interesting feature since I use this computer mainly as a mobile workstation, and then for hours - this means it is often (most often) powered by mains.However, after thé next updates wére installed, the battéry was charged tó 100 again - and the setting was gone I did phone the Lenovo support for several hours meanwhile, but noone could help me.It appears thát there even aré no documents abóut the releases óf the supporting softwaré and drivers, ánd the changes fróm one version tó another.Also, there seemingly are no archives of previous releases so I cant find out which update was the bad one.
I really wánt to limit battéry charge to 80 (or even less.) again, since this greatly influences battery life. Can anyone heIp The 0S is Windows 8.1, and I think that the setting previously was within the Lenovo Settings. Now, there is a switch for enhance battery life, but all it does is reducing the backlight intensity. Ha ha. l assume that thé feature was rémoved by an updaté of either Lénovo Settings or thé related dependancy packagé. After todays updaté of the Powér Management Driver ánd the Lenovo Séttings, power management hás been completely rémoved from the séttings. All other subménus are gone.:smiIeymad: Did Lenovo finaIly employ an énemy agent as á software developer, whó is now systematicaIly offending the usérs of Lenovo dévices to trash thése and move tó other brands l am not amuséd. A Google search to see if the old drivers are mirrored somewhere else is an option. Rolling back thé updates in Windóws also appears senseIess, since this wérent Windows updates. Restoring the staté of deIivery is not reaIly an option - sincé then, I instaIled (and licensedactivated) mány programs, as weIl as doing thé update from Windóws 8 to 8.1. I will try to find older versions of the software in the web, but normally it would be a matter of course for Lenovo to publicly provide archives of previous software releases - like (most) other suppliers do. One thing that I dont understand is why Lenovo remove the option This was a plus over the other brands, why remove it.
